Lisa has been a bodyworker and massage therapist since 1991. She has a part-time practice in the Pearl District where she does relaxation and clinical massage, as well as Reiki sessions. Lisa is currently Interim Director of Education for OSM. She teaches Massage and Communication/Ethics at OSM, as well as the Swedish Board Review classes.

Anne has practiced for 24 years and has been an instructor of continuing education for Paul St. John Neuromuscular Massage Therapy Seminars in several states. She has taught bodywork classes for East-West College and AMTA in addition to teaching for OSM.

Sarah is a 2009 graduate of the Oregon School of Massage and maintains a private practice in Multnomah Village, Portland, focusing on both relaxation and clinical massage. She earned a Master's in Business Administration from Portland State University in 1997 and has 15 years experience in sales and marketing in the Portland area. Currently, Sarah enjoys combining her love of craft of massage with the business of massage and is teaching the Introduction to Business class at OSM.

Gay Blackwell CMT-California
Gay’s journey into massage therapy began 17 years ago when she sustained career-ending injuries as a fire fighter/emergency medical technician. After the fire service, Gay trained and worked for 10 years with those challenged by mental health illnesses, and drug and alcohol addictions. During this time she began receiving bodywork to help her body heal. The physical, emotional and spiritual healing she experienced was dramatic and empowering. It changed her life. She decided to try her hand at massage and heal by touch. OSM’s belief that healing the body, mind and spirit is an integrated process - parallels Gay’s own beliefs and passion for helping others. Gay teaches anatomy and physiology and shares her enthusiasm and laughter with anyone who will listen.

Michelle decided to become a massage therapist while working as a television news anchor and health reporter. She has a full-time massage practice in Salem, where she is politically active in peace and animal protection causes, and serves on the Humane Society Board of Directors. She formerly served as a writer and editor of an internet magazine about massage and bodywork. Michelle has practiced massage since 1993, specializing in deep tissue, PNF, prenatal massage, and injury management. Michelle teaches Massage-Lower Body and Massage-Assessment and Application.

Kate is a Registered Polarity Practitioner who has been teaching Polarity Therapy for over 8 years. She trained with Health Training Group in Canada and has been practicing massage and Polarity Therapy for over 15 years. In addition, she teaches massage therapy at a variety of schools in the Seattle area and is also a Reiki Master, Watsu practitioner and aroma therapist.

Richard has a background in video and television. He studied Reflexology in Brisbane, Australia and massage at OSM. He currently practices in SW Portland. Richard teaches Foot Reflexology and Hand and Ear Reflexology at OSM.
Carolyn Campbell MA, CPPC
Carolyn integrates business know-how, leadership and creative outreach to coach healing practitioners. She has worked with hundreds of individuals including psychologists, social workers, counselors, personal coaches, energy healers, chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapists, acupuncturists and bodyworkers to create successful practice that reflects their approach to life. In addition to coaching, speaking and teaching, Carolyn has written articles on business development for numerous journals and e-zines throughout the country.
Jim Cleaver LAC
Jim is the developer and Director of the OSM Shiatsu program, and also teaches in the Classical Chinese Medicine program at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. He has practiced Shiatsu since 1973 and taught bodywork and Chinese medicine at schools in Colorado and California since 1978. Jim is a long time practitioner of Asian exercises such as Tai-Ji, Qi-Gong and Dao-Yin. He worked with Ron Kurtz developing Hakomi Therapy and with David Palmer creating On-Site Chair Massage.
Frank Coppieters PhD, LMT #2385
Frank Coppieters, PhD, LMT, Reiki Master, taught at the graduate level for 13 years at the University of Antwerp in Belgium before he became a spiritual teacher, counselor and Reiki Master. He practices at The Living Light Center in SW Portland where he does Reiki, shamanistic work, counseling and offers free meditation with inspired guidance. Jacquelyne Ellis is a professional intuitive who serves as a teacher, spiritual coach and business consultant to clients worldwide. She teaches through out the U.S. and The Netherlands.
Paula Forehand Registered Instructor
Paula began her journey with Ortho-Bionomy in 1996 and integrates the principles of Ortho-Bionomy daily into her dance with life. Paula enjoys teaching the principles and concepts, providing a safe space for others to explore and find a new comfort and balance within themselves. Students learn to feel the work with hand-on experience in the class so that they may better assist their clients, family and animals for more comfortable living.

A strong interest in complementary healing led Pratiti to begin studying massage and bodywork therapy in 1984. After running a successful massage practice for ten years, she became intrigued with what she heard about Bowenwork®, a type of therapy new to the USA. She attended her first Bowenwork® course in 1996 and began introducing her clients to its many benefits. In 1998 she completed Bowenwork® training and became certified as a Professional Bowenwork Practitioner. In 2007 Pratiti became certified by The Bowenwork Academy of Australia, as a Registered Bowenwork Instructor - 1 of 12 in the USA. Aleta studied massage through Ashmead College in Vancouver,WA and received her diploma in March, 2001. She graduated with honors from both the Professional Licensing Program and the Aromatherapy and Spa Specialty Program, becoming licensed in the state of Oregon in April 2001. Aleta began her massage career at The Dosha Salon and Spa and Salon En Vogue in Portland, OR. After working in the spa industry for a while, she decided to open her own practice in Salem. She has worked in a wide variety of settings including day spas, athletic clubs, private practice, chiropractic clinics, and physical therapy offices. Aleta graduated cum laude from Western Oregon University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. David is Co-director of Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in Austin, TX. Since 1982 He has taught Deep Massage: The Lauterstein Method and Zero Balancing in England and throughout the U.S. He is one of the most highly respected educators in the massage therapy realm and was inducted in 2011 into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame. He is the author of the book, Putting the Soul Back in the Body and The Deep Massage Book. His background prior to massage therapy was in philosophy and music composition. He is known internationally as one of the primary advocates for unified progress in massage and bodywork as both an art and a science.

Meredith graduated from OSM in 2003. She practiced massage for 3 years while working towards completion of her Naturopathic degree at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2006. Marybetts Sinclair LMT #644
Marybetts has been practicing massage in Corvallis since 1975. MaryBetts has been teaching massage to massage therapists, students and lay people ever since. She has a special interest in adding massage and hydrotherapy to everyone’s lives as they care for their friends and family. MaryBetts has authored three books on massage therapy: Massage for Healthier Children, Pediatric Massage Therapy and her latest Modern Hydrotherapy for the Massage Therapist. Anne Solseng LMT #11169
Anne has been a licensed massage therapist since 2003. She currently has a private practice, down the hall from the OSM main office and also does end of life massage for Providence Hospice. Since becoming an LMT, she has worked in spas, with chiropractors and worked doing on-site chair massage for Comcast, Clear Channel and Coffee Bean International. Prior to becoming an LMT she was a manager and corporate trainer, for 14 years, in the specialty coffee industry. She attended the UW, in her home town of Seattle, and graduated with a BA in Dance in 1989. She has made Portland her home since 1990.

Leslie is a certified pregnancy massage therapist, watsu practitioner, and registered nurse.  As a perinatal massage specialist, she has taught at OSM since 1993, initiating the Maternity Massage Certification program in 2007. She is the author of Nurturing Massage for Pregnancy: A Practical Guide to Bodywork for the Perinatal Cycle and is the instructor on the DVD: Mastering Pregnancy Massage. Her other films: Mothertouch: Nurturing Touch for Birth and Touch Techniques for Birth are based on her experience attending hundreds of hospital and home births. Jill Stanard ND
Dr. Jill Stanard is a naturopathic physician and graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Oregon School of Massage. Dr. Stanard practiced naturopathic medicine in Rhode Island before returning to Oregon in 2002 to teach. She has been on the faculty of NCNM, OSM, University of Bridgeport and taught for the Geriatric Education Center of the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Stanard is Clinic Director at NCNM.

Emily was born to work with her hands. She has been an artist in many mediums, is a Reiki I and II practitioner and is now an LMT helping people feel better.
Margaret Townsend  
Margaret has been practicing as a certified TransformBreathing Facilitator since 1993. From 1995 to 2000, she was a senior trainer for the International Breath Institute. Her focus on body awareness grew through her work as a certified Shiatsu massage practitioner and as a teacher of dance and yoga for the last 20 years. These modalities, along with her studies in Qi Gong, Nonviolent Communication, and body-centered therapy, are all incorporated into her work.

Molly is a 1994 graduate from OSM. Her background includes a degree in exercise science with a minor in athletic training. She has spent over 15 years as a trainer in many facilities in the Portland area, and as an exercise therapist for an outpatient diabetic education program. Molly strongly feels massage therapists are an integral part of helping bring optimal health and a focused calm to athletes of all levels. She is featured in the DVD Sports Massage from Real Bodywork (see info and clips here). Molly currently owns her own business, Time Out Massage, in which she works with athletes, and for Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Oregon.
Wendy Ward LMT #10147
Wendy has been practicing bodywork off and on since 1980. Prior to being licensed in Oregon, she worked as an herbalist and organic farmer. She currently practices in SE Portland, emphasizing Shiatsu in her work. She’s especially enthusiastic about Shiatsu because it is as engaging and rewarding to give as it is to receive. Inspired by the traditional, cultural and medical theories at the root of this art form, she incorporates Tai-Ji and Dao-Yin in her self-care regimen. Both of these enhance her skills as a practitioner. Through teaching, Wendy enjoys sharing her excitement about Shiatsu.

Anne has been involved in alternative healing for over a decade with a special focus on the use of essential oils. She is an aroma therapist, LMT, licensed esthetician, certified reflexologist, clinical hypnotherapist, spa consultant, registered counselor, curriculum development specialist and educator. She co-founded Aromatic Body Stone Therapy (ABST) with Bill Langford of US Sports Massage Company. Connie is a 2004 graduate of the Oregon School of Massage. In addition to her massage expertise, she is a Reiki Master with a background in exercise instruction. Connie loves the outdoors, and has worked as a River Guide when she was not traveling the world. All of these experiences have helped Connie develop the holistic approach she applies to her work. Connie’s practice is in Salem where she also facilitates career previews for OSM.

Dr. Young is the Chiropractor & owner of Body of Health Chiropractic & Wellness Center in Corvallis, OR. He is a 2007 graduate of Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, OR with a Bachelor's of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degree. As a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Dr. Young enjoys working with athletes and personal training. He is the instructor for Pathology I & Pathology II at the OSM Salem campus.
Elizabeth Zenger Ph.D., LAc.
Elizabeth is an acupuncturist and certified Zero BalancingR practitioner in private practice in Portland, OR since 2001. She is currently a Zero Balancing® teacher. Dr. Zenger formerly served as a faculty member and Dean at the Oregon School of Oriental Medicine. She received her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.
Melanie Zermer LMT #5183, Dipl. A.B.T.
Melanie is a licensed massage therapist who specializes in Asian Bodywork Therapy. She is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has been teaching at OSM, Salem campus since 1999. In addition to her practice and teaching, she is involved in building community in the mid-Valley. She is currently on the governing board of KMUZ 88.5 FM – a community radio station slated to be on the air by fall of 2011.

Jason Aguayo Administrative Supervisor, Salem Campus
Jason can usually be found scrambling around the Salem Campus of the Oregon School of Massage. Before joining the OSM administrative team, Jason earned a degree in History from UC San Diego, but spent most of his time attending barbecues and baseball games. Though not a bodyworker, Jason is an experienced consumer of massage. Besides a devotion to OSM administration, he is an amateur gardener, film buff and guitar player.
Rosa Leonardi Front Desk Coordinator, Salem Campus
Rosa has been an active part of the Salem community ever since she graduated from OSU, over 25 years ago. Her administrative background includes assisting residents in their dealings with the City of Salem as a Neighborhood Association Counselor, and for 16 years she was the Community Development Coordinator at Salem’s community television station where she wrote and produced television programs for local non-profit and governmental organizations to help raise community awareness. Rosa enjoys receiving massages but now that she is at OSM, she is contemplating the possibility of learning how to give them. When not at the front desk in Salem, Rosa can be found either volunteering with the Salem City Club, playing with her mini-Doxi, Max A Million, or experimenting with a new recipe. Valerie Mays Admissions Coordinator, Portland Campus
Valerie currently lives in Vancouver, WA with her loving family. She is originally from San Diego, CA where she worked privately as a massage therapist in a variety of settings. She graduated from IPSB-the International Professional School of Bodywork in 1994 with an Associate of Science degree in Holistic Health. She also completed the IPSB Teacher Training program which provided an opportunity to teach with some of the Faculty who inspired her. Her love of massage led to a position as Director of Admissions at IPSB where she worked for nine years. She was happy to find a school here in the Northwest with a similar body, mind, spirit philosophy so she could continue to encourage students to follow their dreams.

Anne has been our OSM bookkeeper for the past three years. Anne earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Fresno State University and subsequently moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1984. Anne has lived in Tigard for the past 17 years. Her hobbies include Tai Chi, sewing and gardening.
Amy Stark Student Services Coordinator
Amy graduated from Florida's Humanities Center Institute of Allied Health in 2003 with 625 hours of Integrated Wellness Massage training. She began her career as a licensed massage therapist in Minnesota, enjoying work in spa, clinic and private practice settings. In 2005, she and her family moved to Arizona, where she was licensed and originally began working in massage education as an Admissions Coordinator. Amy now calls Portland home, where her current position affords her the enjoyment of working directly with students to help develop their path to becoming an LMT. Elizabeth Taylor Registrar
Elizabeth, or “ET” as we affectionately call her, holds a Masters of Science degree in Physical Education from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She has taught physical education in grades K-12, and has been involved in adult educational training for the past 10 years. Elizabeth joined the OSM team in 2002 as our Registrar.
Alan Wells LMT #10596 - Director of Organizational Development
Alan has 23 years of management and leadership experience, with over 12 years in training development in a corporate setting. Alan is a licensed massage therapist with a private practice in Beaverton. He has expertise in Swedish, Thai, Shiatsu, Polarity and Chair Massage. Alan’s life mission is to be a catalyst of natural, holistic healing by balancing physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual energies in order to strengthen self-actualization and wellness, transforming life’s pressures into life lessons. Alan has taught Communications/Ethics and Business classes at OSM, for the past 2 years, and was recently named Director of Organizational Development.
Jack Wells LMT #11767 - Clinic/Bookstore Coordinator, Salem Campus
Jack is a graduate of Salem OSM, Dec. '04 and has been an LMT since May of '05. He has his own business, "Wellshire Massage", in Keizer. In addition to clinic duties he will carry on various task that his predecessor did so faithfully. Jack had worked 30 years in church ministry and now enjoys working with soul and body.
