Polarity Therapy
Polarity Therapy is a holistic health system that involves learning and utilizing energy-based bodywork, basic nutritional concepts, energy exercises (also called Polarity yoga) and process work to enhance self-awareness. As in most energy-based systems, health is viewed as a reflection of the condition of our “energy field”, electromagnetic patterns that manifest in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual experience. Polarity Therapy classes at OSM will now allow students to complete the first level of training recognized by the American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA). APTA sanctions two levels of training and the Associate Polarity Practitioner (APP) is the preliminary level, based on a minimum level of excellence in this field.
Most OSM Polarity classes are open to all students, but a few have prerequisites. Required and recommended books will be available in the OSM bookstore beginning June 2007.
The instructor for these classes is Kate Bromley MA, RPE, LMP #WA 4831. She is a Registered Polarity Educator (RPE) who has been teaching Polarity classes for 9 years. Kate trained with Health Training Group in B.C. Canada, and completed her teacher training in the Toronto/Quebec area. She has been practicing massage in the state of Washington for 17 years and teaches clinical massage skills, Polarity therapy, aromatherapy and spa clinic in the Seattle area. Comments from previous OSM students include “huge compassionate heart, broad knowledge and willingness to share it”, “very informative, supporting and inspiring”, “challenges me to stretch myself”.
Besides her passion for teaching, Kate continues to study nutritional therapy, Zero Balancing and the use of aromatic oils. She maintains a practice in Seattle where she focuses on lymphatic drainage, neuromuscular therapy, Polarity and Watsu. She treasures her time with family and “family of friends”.
