Massage Presentations - 1 CEU
"Massage Connections" in Portland and the "LMT Gathering" in Salem are a series of presentations organized by Oregon School of Massage for LMTs and massage students. The presentations are intended as an opportunity to learn about topics of interest and network with fellow professionals. There is no charge for these events. One hour of continuing education (for Oregon massage licensure) will be granted for each of the above presentations. Bring a colleague. Other healthcare professionals are welcome. In complex times we don’t need more complex practices, we need practices that are EASY. What is InterPlay and how can it help me to create more EASE, in myself, my life, and my work?
InterPlay is a 20-plus year old system of simple, incremental practices rooted in storytelling, movement, song and stillness. We might tell a 30 second story, do a one hand dance, sing pretend opera or wail a gibberish country western rant. It’s like a waking dream where anything is possible. Sometimes goofy, sometimes sweet; often surprisingly deep.
As body workers we know that physicality is basic. We do not have bodies, we are bodies. All of our experience is physical. Feelings are physical, spirituality is physical, thinking is physical. Through play we gain access to the wisdom residing in the body; through WITNESSING we deepen our insight into and compassion for the experience of others. Whether you are a Cultural Creative, a frustrated artist, an introvert, or a Recovering Serious Person; whether you are in a wheel chair or in the Olympics; whether you devote hours each week or a minute a day, InterPlay’s simple, fun practices can transform your life as they have mine.
Cassandra Sagan is an InterPlay leader, teacher, storyteller, poet, Maggid, and singer/songwriter who has devoted her life to helping others access and express their Creative Brilliance.
Those attending will receive a certificate for one hour of massage continuing education credit.
